The
James and John Turco Insurance agency was founded in 1952
by James Turco. This year, 2002 marked our fiftieth year in
business. Jim Turco began the business from the ground level,
starting with one customer and building a strong clientele.
Born
and raised in Walpole, Jim's goal was to offer his customers
the security of insurance backed by a hard working and honest
broker, someone who would always go the extra mile for his
clients.
The
business was started as, and remains a family operation. In
the beginning, Jim's mother helped out by answering phones.
In 1955 John Turco and Mildred Mastropieri, Jims brother and
sister, joined to help him serve the people. John passed away
of Hodgkin's disease in 1960 at the age of 30. Three of Jim's
daughters, Mary, Tina, and Katie, joined the agency during
the 80's, assisting him in serving the community.
Jim
passed away in February, 2000. Today, Jim's daughters Mary
King, Tina Seaman and Katie Abate own and operate the agency.
Judi McClean, Marilyn Sarnie and Maureen Lamperti have been
a part of the office staff for numerous years. Marilyn Sarnie
retired this past year. Also during this past year we added
the newest addition to our staff, Dalilia Byrnes.
Now
fifty years later, the Turco Agency continues to operate on
its original motto:
"Born
in the Community to Serve the Community"
We
strive to offer our customers the very best. As insurance
brokers, we work hard for our customers.
All
of us at the agency would like to say thank you for 50 wonderful
years in business. We appreciate your patronage and hope we
can continue to serve you.
